We all know what the 4th of July means, but there is something else that makes people excited to celebrate the birth of our nation’s independence. It’s fireworks. Hudson County will have an abundance of exhibits as well as festivals and music this weekend to celebrate America’s birthday. Here’s where you can go to partake in the patriotic fun:

City of Jersey

For years, the 4th of July celebration in Jersey City has been one of the biggest in the area since its resurrection by Jersey City Mayor Steven M. Fulop, and this coming Monday will be no different when it takes place. again at Exchange Place. Where past celebrations have seen big name headliners like Village People, Kool and the Gang, Snoop Dogg, Pitbull and Akon, this year’s 4th of July celebration features headliner Flo Rida with Shaquille O ‘Neal aka DJ Diesel and Funk Flex.

The fireworks, provided by Grucci, will take place after all three performances when they are launched from two barges located in the middle of the Hudson River. Spectators can watch the fireworks along the Hudson River Walkway, from Liberty State Park’s North Field, and most areas overlooking The Heights.

Also, part of the celebration is the 4th of July Fireworks Food Festival from noon to 10 p.m. at the Exchange Place PATH station, 68 Christopher Columbus Dr., Jersey City. The event is free and will include food and drink, shopping and music. The food ends at 9:30 p.m. when the fireworks begin.

Cornucopia Cruise will host its annual 4th of July Fireworks Cruise on Monday, July 4th. Weehawken
