A pop-up record store distributing free vinyls opens in London.

The boutique, SMARTY Disc-overy, will open for one day only on July 16 at 19 Air Street in Mayfair, London between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Each guest will be able to take home a free vinyl record, although they will only know what it is after leaving the building.

All records distributed are concealed in order to encourage people to expand their listening habits and explore new artists and genres. Customers will be allowed to use the listening stations once they have chosen their giveaway, while an in-store DJ will spin the tracks throughout the event.

The day after SMARTY Disc-overy opens on Friday July 17th, the second release of Record Store Day 2021 releases will hit stores across the UK, including new music and reissues. Meanwhile, a new documentary series, “Behind The Counter,” has just landed on YouTube, celebrating independent record store culture.
