PSNK Alumni golf outing scheduled for October 8

The Penn State New Kensington Alumni Society will host a golf outing on October 8 at the Totteridge Golf Course, 325 Hannastown Road, Salem Township.

Registration and breakfast will be from 7:30 am to 8:50 am The event is a race and there will be a shotgun start at 9 am. A reception and an awards dinner will take place at 2:30 p.m.

Donations requested for the improvement of Gilpin-Leechburg Park

The Gilpin Leechburg Joint Recreation Authority is accepting donations that will be used to match a grant to complete upgrades and improvements to the park located in Gilpin.

The park is used by many residents as well as a local Boy Scout troop, the Leechburg area high school softball team, ASA Softball, Little League and school district field days.

The proposed improvements will be completed at the basketball court, tennis court, parking area, pavilion, concession stand and softball viewing area.
